The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is sponsoring a “Mini Medical School” from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, in the Rogalski Center Ballroom, St. Ambrose University, 518 W. Locust St., Davenport.
The event has free admission to members of the public, and the program will cover cancer trends in the state; explore how collaborations between cancer researchers, doctors, and hospital systems can lead to clinical trials that advance care and provide options for patients; and learn how patients can get involved.
“Mini Medical School” highlights groundbreaking discoveries and hot research topics in an easy-to-understand and accessible format. Presented in a “medical school” format through lectures and hands-on, lab-inspired programming, the program is designed to help the general public better understand how biomedical discoveries translate into life-saving treatments and care.
