U.S. Rep. Eric Sorensen, D-Illinois, will host a roundtable discussion Monday, June 16, with medical and community health leaders in Rock Island County to address the consequences of proposed cuts to Medicare and Medicaid.
The discussion is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Community Health Care Auditorium, 2750 11th St., Rock Island. The Moline congressman will be available for questions after the event.
He will be joined on the roundtable by:
- Tom Bowman, CEO, Community Health Care.
- Caitlin Wells, CEO, The Project.
- Dennis Duke, president, Robert Young Center.
- David Stark, government affairs and philanthropy officer, UnityPoint.
- Lacey Matkovic, executive director, Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging.
- Katy Deadmond, market and research coordinator, Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging.
The conversation will cover how proposed funding cuts could threaten access to essential care for seniors, low-income families and people with chronic health conditions with local health care experts.
