Life is Beautiful Concert for NAMI is June 3

The latest Life is Beautiful concert to raise money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Greater Mississippi Valley will be Saturday, June 3, at the Raccoon Motel, 315 E. Second St., Davenport.

Doors for the event will open at 2:30 p.m., with music beginning at 3:30 p.m. Admission is a free-will donation, and there will be “NAMI narwhal” T-shirts designed by local artist Carolyn Krueger available for purchase online.

Local comedian Tori House will host the event, which also will feature the improv group Bubble Pig, as well as six bands: Rezinator, Ted Ed Fred, Centaur Noir, Aubs., Plunkett and Mo Carter, according to a news release. The concert also celebrates the streaming release of William Martin’s music, which is available on Spotify, Apple Music and most streaming services.

NAMI Greater Mississippi Valley provides free, nationally developed mental health education and support programs to those living with a mental health condition and their families and friends. The organization’s largest fundraiser is NAMIWalks, which will be on Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Bend XPO, East Moline. Funds raised in the QC stay in the QC to benefit people in need.
