
LeCLAIRE, Iowa – A new Patriot Riverfest will be here on Saturday, June 10, to help raise funds to benefit Scott County veterans.
The fest – with fun for all ages – will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on LeClaire’s levee. The Patriot River Fest, Inc. was created to raise funds for Scott County veterans’ organizations and monuments.
Organizers plan to improve the party each year and raise funds to help renovate patriotic monuments and improve area organizations’ ability to provide for Scott County veterans. Admission is free.
The family-friendly day kicks off with a free Kids’ Fishing Derby (ages 13 and younger) from 8 to 10 a.m. at the south end of the Levee. Registration begins at 7 a.m. Trophies will be awarded immediately following the opening flag ceremony.
Starting at 10 a.m., gates will open with food and craft vendors, bounce houses, poker run registration, live music and more. Here is Patriot Riverfest’s schedule:
- 10 a.m. – Poker run registration begins with American Legion Riders, Ranch Riders, Broken Spokes, $10 per bike; $5 for passenger. Go out at noon to the Freedom Rocks area and return to levee about 4:30-5 p.m.
- 10:15 a.m. – Opening flag ceremony. “The Star-Spangled Banner” will be sung by Sue Friend; bagpipes will perform.
- 5-6 p.m. – Poker run completion and drawings.
Live music will include Wes Wells/also DJ music 10 a.m.-2 p.m., The Generations Band 2-5 p.m., and Acoustic Friends 5:30-7 p.m.
Vendors will offer tumblers, wood decor, Pampered Chef, Bath & Beauty, candles, Diamond Painting, Color Street, Scentsy, bakery, farm products, origami, Apothecary, Irish collectables, seasonings, wooden flags, crystals and incense, embroidery, handbags and more.
Food trucks include Izzy’s Tacos, What BBQ, Unimpaired Mobile and Stan’s Ice Cream Truck at noon. Pop and water will be for sale. Beer coolers are allowed. Leashed pets are welcome.
