LECLAIRE, Iowa – Two business advocate groups in this community will be joining forces in 2026 to support local businesses and attract visitors.

The LeClaire Chamber of Commerce is combining with the LeClaire Marketing Alliance next year.

The alliance is a group for businesses in LeClaire to market the town and businesses, according to the group’s Facebook page.

The merged organizations will be a “major player in supporting local business, attracting visitors, helping promote economic growth, as well as supporting local events and working to improve the quality of life for our residents,” LeClaire Chamber President Rob Cain announced in a Chambers Views newsletter emailed Wednesday, Sept. 10, to chamber members.

The merger will become official on Jan. 1, 2026. After the merger, the expanded organization will retain the name LeClaire Chamber of Commerce.

In combining the two organizations, the chamber will now have a “bigger base of membership” and have the chance to be more active in the LeClaire community, Mr. Cain told the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal in an interview Thursday, Sept. 11.

He added that in time, other groups might be combining with the chamber.

Mr. Cain said part of the updated and expanded chamber organization will be the addition of new board members and new committees. In this week’s chamber newsletter, he listed seven committees and asked chamber members to consider joining those groups. Those committees include: membership; marketing/communications; events/networks events; fundraising/special projects; government affairs; tourism; and golf.

“We have changed our membership dues structure; we are adding up to six new board members, and we are establishing new committees, as well as having monthly member meetings to enhance our networking and communications for all members,” Mr. Cain wrote.

He added: “I am excited about all the changes. … The best part of being a member of any organization is the opportunity to network with other members. I have always said that the more you put into an organization, the more you get out of it.”
