The Last Picture House will host a special, one-night-only screening of M. Night Shyamalan’s “Unbreakable” at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22.
The event will feature a live hosting by Jonathan Decker, a licensed therapist, and Alan Seawright, a professional filmmaker, from the nationally recognized podcast “Cinema Therapy.”
Mr. Decker and Mr. Seawright are known for their podcast, which boasts more than 1.8 million subscribers and 120 million views, where they analyze films to offer insights into mental health and life. They will delve into the characters, themes and plot of “Unbreakable” to provide therapeutic perspectives.
Released in 2001, “Unbreakable” has gained significant acclaim over the years for its meticulously designed visuals, strong performances and moving score by James Newton Howard. The film, rated PG-13, tells the story of an ordinary man who discovers an extraordinary truth about himself after a train accident. His mystery may be connected to Elijah Price, a man with a rare disease that makes his bones extremely fragile.

On their podcast, “Cinema Therapy” hosts explore the psychology of popular films, offering humorous, heartfelt and vulnerable discussions on healthy relationship skills, mental health awareness and filmmaking. Mr. Decker holds a bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s in couples and family therapy, and is the clinical director of Mended Light, an online trauma clinic. Mr. Seawright is an Emmy-winning filmmaker with experience directing commercials, documentary television and feature films.
