Lane & Waterman names Gorham newest partner 

Davenport-based Lane & Waterman has announced Maegan M. Gorham as its newest partner.

In a news release, the law firm said Ms. Gorham joined Lane & Waterman in 2018. Her practice focuses primarily on general business matters, employment and education law. She assists corporations, limited liability companies and other entities with formation and governance, commercial contract drafting and negotiation, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence and compliance matters. 

Ms. Gorham also assists partners and clients with civil litigation in commercial and employment matters.

Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a director in higher education for more than 10 years, was the executive director of a national not-for-profit organization, and served as an adjunct professor at the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business and St. Ambrose University. 

She also interned for U.S. District Court Judge Sara Darrow in the Central District of Illinois and for Iowa Supreme Court Justice Thomas D. Waterman.

Ms. Gorham received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Monmouth College, post-graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management and Master’s in Organizational Leadership from St. Ambrose University, and Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Illinois State University. She received her Juris Doctorate from The University of Iowa College of Law, where she served as a student writer on the Journal of Corporation Law and a participant and judge for the Van Oosterhout-Baskerville Domestic Moot Court Competition.

Her memberships include: the Iowa State Bar Association, Scott County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Rock Island County Bar Association, the Missouri Bar, and the Dillon Inn of Court. She also serves on the board of directors for the Bettendorf Library Foundation and the Scott County Regional Authority.
