Ohl Strong, a non-profit organization, will hold an old-fashioned tailgate party at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Traditions Event Center, 2150 E. LeClaire Road, Eldridge.
Cheer on the Hawkeyes and enjoy a BBQ, raffle and a silent auction. All proceed fro the tailgate will go to pancreatic cancer patients in the greater Quad Cities, which includes a 72-mile radius.
The endowment was established by Peggy Ohl in cooperation with the Trinity Health Foundation, following the death of her husband, Dr. Brent Ohl. He died after a brief and valiant battle with pancreatic cancer in August 2016.
The Ohl Strong’s goal is to help 100% of all patients diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the greater Quad Cities and present them with a packet that contains $500 in Visa gift cards and an application to apply for the Make a Memory gram for additional funding. Since the 2023 tailgate event, $28,000 has been given to support pancreatic cancer patients.
For more information about the tailgate or to donate go to OhlStrong.org or contact Peggy Ohl at 309-721-1356.
