John Deere employees worldwide set another record for employee giving in 2024 by besting by nearly one-third the already impressive number of volunteer hours they recorded globally in 2023.
Here at home, Quad Cities Deere & Co. employees were every bit as generous with their time and treasure this year, a media alert from the Moline-based heavy equipment manufacturer said.
In setting the global record in 2024, Deere employees worldwide contributed more than 342,000 volunteer hours. That’s up 31% from the 260,000 volunteer hours the earlier year.
Also in the Quad Cities in 2024, the company said employees dedicated nearly 75,000 volunteer hours. They also donated more than $3.26 million to various causes. That illustrates workers significant commitment to community service and philanthropy, Deere said. The top two groups supported by employees here were United Way of the Quad Cities and Boy Scouts of Iowa.
“Our employees’ dedication to volunteering and community service is truly inspiring,” said Mara Downing. She’s vice president, global brand management and corporate communications for John Deere and president of the John Deere Foundation.
“This record-breaking achievement reflects our collective commitment to making a positive impact in the communities where we live and work,” she added. “We are proud to support and encourage our employees in their efforts to give back.”
In 2023, the John Deere Foundation celebrated its 75th Anniversary. It also is one of the reasons Deere & Co. is regularly singled out for its community engagement That includes by the Points of Light’s Civic 50. Each year, that list recognizes the 50 most community-minded companies with revenues of at least $1 billion annually in the United States.

- Global volunteer hours: 342,015.
- Global increase from 2023: 31%.
- Quad Cities volunteer hours: 74,543.
