IowaWORKS

IowaWORKS in Davenport invites local employers to learn the latest trends on creating an inclusive workplace.

The workshop, “Leap Into Inclusion” – Employer Disability Awareness Training, is set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 29, at the IowaWORKS Center, 1801A East Kimberly Road.

The training is free and lunch will be provided for those who register in advance. RSVP by Friday, Feb. 23, at https://forms.office.com/r/vCMZzC77JZ

IowaWORKS invites CEOs, business owners and human resource professionals to learn about workplace accommodations. There will be a Windmills training module as part of the training.

Windmills is a nationwide, highly interactive training program that empowers and equips Human Resource professionals, managers and supervisors to become more inclusive of individuals with disabilities in their work environment.

“This training allows for employers to learn the latest trends in workplace inclusion,” said Chad Pratz, area office supervisor for Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services. “Providing resources for our area employers can also help create innovative ideas to take back to their workplaces.”

A business panel will be on hand to share workplace experiences. A question-and-answer session will also allow for healthy dialogue on creating an inclusive work environment.
