JOHNSTON, Iowa — Iowa Corn has announced the students selected to participate in the 2025-2026 Collegiate Advisory Team (CAT) program. The program aims to increase college students’ understanding of the corn industry.
During the one-year program, students will visit the state capitol, tour industry leaders’ operations, and expand their network and knowledge outside of the classroom.
“Iowa Corn is dedicated to developing the current and future farmers to best serve the industry,” said Joe Roberts, a farmer from Wright County and Iowa Corn Promotion Board president.
“I gained my first experience with Iowa Corn when I had the privilege of serving on CAT while I was in college,” he added in a news release. “Getting engaged in your industry and networking with fellow farmers is something that is valuable and important. The skills gained in CAT provide an outside of the classroom experience, benefiting the next generation.”
These are the Quad Cities regional students, their hometowns and colleges who were selected:
- Local Collegiate Advisory Team peer mentor – Henry Rose, Eldridge, Iowa State University.
- Collegiate Advisory Team students – Kylie Daily, Davenport, Muscatine Community College; Nolan Engelbrecht, Eldridge, Iowa State University; Emily King, Muscatine, Iowa State University; Caroline Strawhacker, Burlington, Iowa State University; Caleb Ziegler, Ottumwa, Indian Hills Community College; and Meghan Klemme, Preston, Iowa State University.
The Collegiate Advisory Team will meet four times over the 2025-2026 school year, providing experience and training by Iowa Corn in areas such as leadership, effective communication, policy and industry relations. For more information on the program, visit https://www.iowacorn.org/CAT.
