Rock Island-based IMEG is deepening its bench in the industrial market by merging with SSI Consulting, LLC, a national leader in the design and inspection of silos and bulk handling facility layouts.
The new partnership, announced by IMEG in a news release, will enrich the leading engineering design firm’s capabilities and expand its service offerings for industrial clients in the cement, power, grain, and coal sectors.
It was one of two acquisitions announced Monday, Feb. 3, by IMEG. In addition, IMEG said Boston-based Warner Larson, a leading landscape architecture firm specializing in community-focused and sustainable site design, has joined the Quad Cities-based IMEG.
Details of the transactions were not disclosed.
The Columbus, Ohio-based SSI boasts 17 employees who will add to IMEG’s existing network of more than 100 offices and 2,800 employees. The deal is just the latest in a string of IMEG acquisitions.
Founded in 2013 by Gerry Lynskey, a certified structural engineer and professional engineer, the SSI Consulting team brings decades of specialized experience in the niche market, having completed thousands of projects across North America and beyond.
Renowned for its client-first approach, SSI Consulting operates as an extension of facility staff, providing innovative, real world solutions that ensure safety, reliability, and operational efficiency in industrial facilities.
“We are excited to welcome SSI Consulting to IMEG, further strengthening our expertise in the industrial market,” IMEG President/CEO Paul VanDuyne said in the release.
“Their specialized knowledge in silo inspection and design enhances our ability to deliver comprehensive, end-to-end solutions for industrial clients,” he added. “By integrating their expertise with our multidisciplinary engineering services, we are expanding our capabilities to provide even greater value, innovation, and safety-focused solutions for industrial facilities across the nation.”
‘Exciting time’ for clients
Mr. Lynskey, the founder and SSI president, will now serve as the team’s client executive. With more than 20 years of engineering expertise, he will oversee operations with his existing staff.
“Joining IMEG presents an exciting opportunity for our team and our clients,” Mr. Lynskey said. “By integrating our specialized expertise with IMEG’s national resources and full-service capabilities, we can enhance our service offerings and continue delivering high-value solutions for industrial clients. This partnership strengthens our staff and allows us to scale our expertise while maintaining our commitment to safety and operational efficiency.”
SSI Consulting will continue to operate nationally, doing business for the foreseeable future as SSI Consulting, now IMEG.
