Award-winning engineering design firm IMEG, based in the Quad Cities, along with Baker Tilly, a leading advisory, tax and assurance firm, have been named winners of the partner category in the 18th annual Deltek Most Valuable Project (MVP) Awards.
Deltek is the leading global provider of enterprise software and solutions for government
contractors, professional services firms, and other project-based businesses.
This award highlights the outstanding collaboration between a Deltek partner and customer, resulting in an exceptional implementation of a Deltek solution. IMEG has relied on Baker Tilly for several years to develop digital workers that seamlessly integrate processes with Vantagepoint, further enhancing operational efficiency.
For this project, IMEG turned to Baker Tilly to automate the calculation of unallowable travel expenses submitted through Deltek Time & Expense. The automation reclasses the portion of expenses that exceed the GSA per diem limits, which are unallowable per the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
The adoption of this automated process, integrated with Vantagepoint Expense, enabled IMEG to achieve substantial annual savings by eliminating payments to a third-party expense processing provider. Notably, the payback period for the bot process implementation was less than nine months, showcasing a significant return on investment and further validating the value of digital transformation for IMEG.
“Choosing Baker Tilly was a game-changer for us. Their deep understanding of our systems and operational needs made it easy to collaborate and implement an automated solution,” IMEG Chief Financial Officer Roland Pulley said in a news release. “The results speak for themselves: faster workflows, significant cost savings, and a scalable process that supports our long-term goals.”
This project truly demonstrated the power of automation and strategic partnership. IMEG, based in west Rock Island, now operates more than 100 offices and employs 3,000+ team members. It also is ranked among the top engineering firms in the U.S. (#4 on BD+C’s Top Engineering Firms and No. 48 on ENR’s Top 500 Design Firms).
