Hubbell-Waterman Foundation to grant $2M to nonprofits

Hubbell-Waterman Foundation graints

The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation, a private foundation founded in 1967 by the late Larned and Mary Hubbell Waterman, will grant more than $2 million to 73 area nonprofits in 2025 to advance its vision of a growing, thriving, inclusive community through investments in innovation and accessibility.

“Since 1967, the Hubbell-Waterman Foundation has been backing the strongest opportunities in the Quad Cities community,” said Sari Blum, the foundation’s Grants Committee chair. “We’re pleased to be able to give nonprofits the funding they need to move forward and serve our region in the best way possible.”

Since its founding, the Hubbell-Waterman Foundation has granted more than $39 million to a wide range of local organizations, including large, small, established, and new entities.

Hubbell-Waterman grants include multi-year awards for many organizations including the program’s largest grant in its history – $375,000 to United Way of the Quad Cities and the United for Schools component of its Rise United Campaign.

“The Hubbell-Waterman Foundation is 100% behind our local nonprofits,” said David Lundy, the foundation’s vice chair. “For decades, we have been investing in the community and causes that matter most. We are excited to support initiatives like Rise United – it’s an investment that will accelerate improvements in education, income, and health outcomes for our community.”

This year’s grants include nonprofits focused on alleviating food insecurity, supporting arts and culture, improving child education opportunities, and much more. The Quad Cities Community Foundation provides administrative support services and access to its grantmaking application platform through a partnership created in 2018.
