Honkamp’s Thomas takes on CEO post

DUBUQUE, Iowa — Honkamp, P.C. has announced that Katie Thomas, the company’s president, has now been appointed as president and CEO. 

Ms. Thomas, who joined the CPA firm in 2004, succeeds former CEO Greg Burbach, the company said in a news release. 

In her 18 years at Honkamp, Ms. Thomas quickly rose through leadership positions, becoming one of the youngest partners at the firm at the age of 29. In February 2020, she was named president.

“It is a privilege to lead this exceptional organization and to build on Greg’s legacy,” Ms. Thomas said in the release. “I look forward to continuing serving clients, growing the firm and working alongside a spirited team of leaders.”

At Honkamp, which includes operations in the Quad Cities, Ms. Thomas assists business and individuals with tax planning and preparation, financial planning, financial statement preparation, and business and management advising. In addition, she will focus on growing the firm, developing employees, and delivering solutions to enrich the lives of Honkamp employees, clients and communities, the release said.
