The Hilltop Campus Village (HCV) in Davenport is getting into the party mood this week for the Quad City Times Bix 7 road race events.
Hilltop will be providing volunteers for some of the race events, including Prairie Farms Quick Bix on Saturday, July 26.
Also, the Hilltop will host a party from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at MLK Park, 501 Brady St. The party will be held before and after The MercyOne Genesis Brady Street Sprints competition.
The party will include plenty of food and music. Doggy Fresh Dogs and Bragg BBQ will be serving up food. The event will also have musical entertainment by the Zach Harris Band, and there will also be KWQC 360 Camera on site for people to do their best “Hello Quad Cities” greetings.
Food trucks will be at the party by 5 p.m., and music will begin at 6 p.m. and take a break for the Sprints at 7 p.m., but start back up at 8 p.m., said Brian Kramer, HCV executive director.
“The Hilltop Campus Village is excited to be a part of the activities during the week of the Bix 7 and to be hosting the Brady Street Sprints After Party,” he said. “When we were approached in 2024 about hosting this event, the idea was that it would give the public something else to come out for beyond the Brady Street Sprints.

“We are hoping to build on last year’s event and that this eventually becomes the kickoff party for the Bix 7 weekend,” Mr. Kramer added.
Here are some of the Bix 7 events set for this week:
- Running Wild Sports and Fitness Expo will be at the RiverCenter, 136 E. Third St., Davenport, from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, July 24. The expo continues from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 25.
- The MercyOne Genesis Brady Street Sprints will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 24. The starting line is at Fifth and Brady streets in downtown Davenport.
- John Deere Shakeout Run will be at 8 a.m. Friday, July 25, at the John Deere Pavalion, Moline.
- Pre-Race Party will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the St. Ambrose University Rogalski Center, 518 W. Locust St., Davenport.
- Arconic Junior Bix will be at 6 p.m. Friday, July 25, in downtown Davenport.
- The Quad-City Times Bix 7 race will take off at 8 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at Fourth and Brady streets.
- Prairie Farms Quick Bix also begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at Fourth and Brady streets in Davenport.
- WalMart Post Race Party will be from 8-11 a.m. Saturday in the Quad-City Times parking lot.
- Friends and Family Gathering Area will be from 8-11 a.m. Saturday on East Fourth Street, between LeClaire Street and River Drive.
- Top 10 at 10 will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Post Race Party Stage.
- Age Group Awards will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the R. Richard Bittner YMCA, Davenport, located across from the Quad-City Times.
