Help Rock Island decide how to allocate $1 million grant funds

The City of Rock Island is asking residents for feedback on how best to allocate $1 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding.

The federal CDBG money — which is one of the longest-running programs by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development — helps provide affordable housing, anti-poverty programs and infrastructure development, according to a news release.

The public is invited to attend one of several community meetings about the CDBG funding, including two being held on Tuesday, Oct. 24. One session will be held 9-10 a.m. and another 5:30-6:30 p.m. that day at the Rock Island Police Department, 1212 Fifth Ave.

The public also may take an easy, online survey by visiting this website through Thursday, Nov. 2.
