Help promote, honor Quad Cities women leaders with Athena awards

If you know a woman who supports, develops and honors other women, Women Lead Change (WLC) needs your help to recognize her through the leadership organization’s annual Athena awards.

The deadline for nominations for all three categories in the 2022 Quad Cities Athena women’s leadership awards program is Monday, Aug. 15. Award categories, which cover women of all ages, include the Athena Leadership Award, Women of Influence and Emerging Leaders.

“The Athena Awards have been a highlight for Quad Cities for 15 years, and with the addition of the Women of Influence and Emerging Leader Awards, we have been able to expand opportunities to honor women supporting women in the region,” said Amy Eaton, WLC’s director of marketing and strategic development. “In our continued efforts to advance women leaders, there are those who are working on a daily basis to better their leadership and careers and mentor future leaders, all while having a positive impact on the community.”

Nomination details and required forms can be found here. Honorees will be recognized at the Athena  Awards Luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Waterfront Convention Center.

How can nominators identify qualified potential award-winners who help other young women reach for the stars and act as bridge-builders in the community?

Ideal candidates for the leadership awards are women who are making a difference both personally and professionally in the Quad Cities,” Ms. Eaton said. “It’s an incredible opportunity to highlight the work they are doing, knowing that these women are not seeking accolades, but their contributions have been noticed and appreciated.”
