Healthiest State annual walk is Wednesday in Bettendorf

Join thousands of people across Iowa on Wednesday, Oct. 4, on a walk highlighting a statewide initiative that promotes getting active and connecting with your community.

Hosted by the City of Bettendorf Parks & Recreation Department, the 13th annual Healthiest State Walk will be from 4-6 p.m. at Kiwanis Park, 4223 Greenbrier Drive. The event will include a stroll on a city trail; sneak peeks inside some public works trucks; a visit with Bettendorf Police officers; games with the parks and rec department, Bettendorf Public Library and Family Museum; and the chance to learn how to play pickleball with the Quad City Pickleball Club.

“The Healthiest State Initiative is a great way to get the family outdoors, enjoy one of our many awesome parks and explore what the City of Bettendorf has to offer our citizens,” said Kim Kidwell, the city’s culture and recreation director, in a news release.

The Healthiest State Initiative is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that works to create awareness and integrate solutions to improve the physical, social and emotional well-being of Iowans, the release states.
