Health department hosts Winter Wellness Event

The Scott County Health Department, along with area partners, will host a Winter Wellness event from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday, Jan. 27, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in downtown Davenport.

The event is designed to connect community members to needed health and wellness resources and will involve more than a dozen community organizations. Event attendees can also visit the St. Anthony’s Food Pantry for a meal during the event.

“We want to support the community during the winter season and make sure they know about resources available to them and have items that they need,” Lydia Amissah-Harris, family health coordinator with the Scott County Health Department, said in a news release.

The event is open to the public. Attendees can receive these services: HIV screenings (receive a $10 gift card); laundry vouchers; winter clothing; hygiene items; blankets and sleeping bags; and other community resources.
