Winter In Bloom – the Hauberg Estate’s annual community open house – will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3. Admission is free.
Quad Citians can delight in the faces of family and friends as they explore the Hauberg Estate’s beautifully decorated Mansion and Carriage House at 1300 24th St., Rock Island, according to a news release from the historic estate.
Everyone is welcome to attend the holiday event, which the Friends of Hauberg Foundation host as their way of thanking the community, donors and volunteers for their support.
Among the things to see and do at Winter In Bloom are:
- Carriage Rides, noon-4 p.m.
- Santa visits, 1-3 p.m.
- Hot chocolate and cookies.
- Storytime with the Artsy Bookworm.
- Crafts and games for the kids.
- Shopping at the Hauberg Stables Gift Shop.
The event also will include a cash bar in the Carriage Haus Bar. The foundation held a grand opening for the newly remodeled Carriage House, a bar and gift shop, on June 30.
The latest re-imagination of the 8,000-square-foot Carriage House is part of Phase 1 of a three-phase capital campaign to benefit the estate’s sustainability.
Also coming up at the Hauberg this Christmas season is a Holiday Champagne & Sparkling Wine Dinner from 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 12.
A selection of sparkling wines and champagne from Dimitri Wine and Spirits will be paired with a gourmet meal. The cost is $50 and tickets are available online here or by calling (309) 373-5080.
