Hand in Hand now enrolling fall pre-K

Hand in Hand, Bettendorf, now is enrolling pre-K students for the fall school year.

“We are excited to welcome new families into our community,” Kayla Hartz, the nonprofit organization’s director of licensed care, said in a news release. “We believe that every child deserves a strong foundation for lifelong learning, and we are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where children of all abilities can thrive.”

Hand in Hand’s early care program is designed to promote children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through a play-based, child-centered curriculum and a range of activities including art, music, science and outdoor play. Hand in Hand also participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program, which ensures participants are served nutritious meals and snacks while in the program.

Children who turn age 4 on or before Sept. 15 may also participate in Iowa’s Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program (SWVPP) as part of Hand in Hand’s full-day wraparound care in partnership with Pleasant Valley Schools. While the SWVPP operates September through June, Hand in Hand is open year-round, the release states.

Hand in Hand has served the Quad Cities area since 2000, empowering children and adults of all abilities to learn and grow by providing inclusive programs and supporting families, according to the release.
