Hand in Hand is hosting its 17th Annual Chili Cook-Off, presented by Quad City Bank & Trust, from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Fair Center at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in west Davenport.
The family-friendly event invites attendees to sample more than 15 varieties of chili and vote for their favorite team. Guests also can expect a silent auction with items such as Chicago Cubs tickets and hotel stays, as well as raffles for prizes including a 65-inch TV and a Dyson Vacuum. Children’s activities also are part of the fun.
“The Chili Cook-Off is our largest fundraiser of the year and helps support so many families in the Quad Cities as they navigate childcare, finding opportunities for their child to feel like they belong, and finding care that can meet their complex needs,” said Ashley Hicks, Hand in Hand’s philanthropy director. “You’re not only trying chili and having a good time, but you’re helping us build a more inclusive Quad Cities.”
Proceeds benefit the Bettendorf-based Hand in Hand’s inclusive programs empowering children and adults of all abilities.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12; children under 5 are free. Adult tickets purchased online by Friday, Jan. 30, are $5 off. Tickets also will be available at the door.
