A fundraising event for Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities is set for Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Isle of Capri in Bettendorf.

The 17th annual Mr. and Mrs. Habitat event begins at 5:30 p.m. and features a silent auction, heavy appetizers, drinks and games. The program begins at 7 p.m. with Habitat supporters competing for the title or Mr. or Mrs. Habitat. This year’s contestants include Gayle Millard, Hannah Kain, Kristal Schaefer and Rebecca Long.

The annual event is a tongue-in-cheek fundraiser but a key event that supports the local Habitat for Humanity chapter. Proceeds provide an important source of funding for local homebuilding and home repair efforts, according to a news release from Habitat.
