Grow Clinton now accepting Leadership Institute applications

CLINTON, Iowa – Registration now is open through Friday, Dec. 29, for the 2024 Grow Clinton Leadership Institute sessions, which will begin in January.

The course is designed to foster the growth of leaders throughout the region. The institute offers participants opportunities to improve their leadership skills, increase effectiveness in their jobs, improve community awareness, garner new tools and techniques for leading groups, and network with other community leaders, Grow Clinton said.

The Leadership Institute will begin with a Kick-Off Luncheon on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at the Clinton Community College Career Advancement Center. Classes will be held from 8-11 a.m. every other Tuesday, beginning Jan. 23. Most classes will be at the Clinton Community School District Administration Building. 

Graduation will be held during the 152nd Grow Clinton Annual Meeting in June. Students will be notified of any venue changes throughout the course. 

The scheduled sessions include: 

  • Jan. 23: Strengths Based Leadership. 
  • Feb. 6: Giftedness & Self Leadership.
  • Feb. 20: Philanthropic Leadership/Leadership Iowa.
  • March 5: Generational Differences in Leadership.
  • March 19: Clinton Leaders of Yesteryear.
  • April 2: Innovations & Creativity of Leaders in Groups.
  • April 16: Leading our Communities in Economic/ Community Development.
  • April 30: Leaders in Clinton County Government.
  • May 14: Clinton Leaders of Today.

Applications – which may be found here – are due by 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 29, and limited to 25 people. Tuition is $500 and non-refundable once the program begins.
