Gilda’s Club changes up annual run

Gilda’s Club Quad Cities has announced a new name, a new location and a new date for its annual fundraiser run.

The re-branded QC Run for Hope will be on Saturday, June 18, at Veterans Memorial Park, Bettendorf. Race time is 8 a.m. The event symbolizes the community’s support for families and individuals coping with cancer. Run or walk for a survivor, to honor someone who touched your life, or to raise money for those who need our services.

The event will feature a 5k run/walk, the One-Mile Fun Run, and the Sleep-In/Chip-In option. To take advantage of an early bird fee of $30, register by May 15. A new addition is the Doggie Dash that allows participants to pay an extra $10 to bring their dog to run or walk.

Registration includes: a commemorative short sleeve shirt; medals for top age group times; and Doggie Dashers will receive a commemorative bandanna.

Awards will be given in the 5K for the overall men’s and women’s champions, overall men’s and women’s survivor champions and both the men’s and women’s age divisions from 14 and under to 70 years and over. Awards will also be given for the largest family and corporate teams.

Packet pick up will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, June 17, on the first floor at 221 E. 2nd Street, Davenport.
