Friendship Manor Continuing Care Retirement Community will hold a free public open house from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, May 29, at the Rock Island campus at 1209 21st Ave., to showcase the renovated independent living community, The Terraces at Friendship Manor.
Visitors can tour the facility and enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages. Guests should use the “D” building entrance.
The $12.5 million renovation and rebranding is the largest part of the “Re-Establishing Friendship” project, which began in October. The campus-wide initiative includes aesthetic and infrastructure upgrades and a new therapy and fitness center.
“Friendship Manor has proudly served the Rock Island community for over 40 years, and with our $12.5 million renovation and the rebranding of our independent living to ‘The Terraces,’ we’re excited to build on our strong legacy,” Ted Pappas, Friendship Manor president and CEO, said in a news release. “This transformation brings modern amenities to a trusted, faith-based community where residents continue to thrive. We’re thrilled to share this new chapter with our neighbors at the sneak peek open house.”
The Terraces features 88 renovated apartments, expanded and upgraded dining at Bistro 1209 and the new Sapphire Dining Room, and new activity spaces including Lounge ‘42.
