Food Truck Fight set for June 18

A food fight is coming to Bettendorf. That is, the annual Food Truck Fight is set for noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at the Isle Parkway, Bettendorf. There is a $10 admission fee for adults. There is free admission for children 12 years old and younger. The event will feature at least a dozen food trucks, live bands all day, bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals and more, according to information from the Food Truck Fight. At 7 p.m., a food truck champion will be named after a tally of votes from attendees. The scheduled bands are: the Stone Flowers, Far Out 283 and the Dirt Road Rockers. Each food truck will have a $3 sample item plus a full menu of food items for purchase. “Our goal is for this family event to be walkable, bikeable and drivable,” said Bobby Ray Bunch, BRB Live owner and the operator of the Food Truck Fight event. “Our new Bettendorf location offers all those things with the new I-74 bridge as a stunning backdrop.” A portion of the proceeds from the Food Truck Fight will be donated back to the host community. Since its first year in 2017, Food Truck Fight has expanded into LeClaire as well as Aurora, Colorado; Galena, Illinois; Muscatine, Iowa; and now Bettendorf. It is operated by BRB Live, a Quad Cities-based event production company. The Downtown Bettendorf Organization (DBO) is pleased to welcome the event to its lineup and efforts to make Downtown Bettendorf a place where people want to live, work, play, and visit. “The DBO was excited for the opportunity to work with the Isle of Capri, the City of Bettendorf, and invested stakeholders to bring BRB Live and Food Truck Fight to Downtown Bettendorf’s riverfront”  and for taking a #bettondowntown,” the group said.
