Flanagan to lead Iowa State SHRM Council

The Iowa State Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Council announced that Laura “Lauri” Flanagan has been elected as its director elect for 2025 and will advance into the director role for 2026-2027.

An HR leader with more than 25 years of professional experience, the Bettendorf woman relaunched her (Laura E. Flanagan) LEF Management Consulting firm last year. LEF Management Consulting is located at 2533 E. 53rd St., Davenport.

Ms. Flanagan has been a society member for the span of her career and active in the organization, contributing to both the state and local HR communities.

The Iowa State SHRM Council supports and connects local society affiliate chapters across the state, providing resources, education, and advocacy to strengthen the HR profession. Through its leadership and programming, the council helps advance human resource management by fostering professional development, leadership, and networking opportunities for HR professionals in Iowa.

Ms. Flanagan holds the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation. She also has been a longtime member of Great River Human Resources Association (GRHRA), a society local affiliate chapter, serving a number of years on the board and as its president from 2020-2021.

“I’m thrilled that Lauri has accepted the council’s approval to take on the director elect role,” said Jason Glass, the current state director of Iowa SHRM. “It’s been a pleasure working with her over the past few years, and I know she will be an excellent leader as we move SHRM Iowa forward. Her experience, judgment, and ability to bring out the best in others will serve her well in this position.”

Ms. Flanagan remains committed to fostering collaboration, innovation, and leadership within Iowa’s HR community and the local SHRM chapters.
