Farm Rescue’s Giving Hearts Day 2026 officially became another “Million Dollar Year” as the nonprofit again surpassed its ambitious goal of raising $1 million through a combination of individual donations and matching gifts.
The Horace, North Dakota-based organization announced Friday, Feb. 13, that after reaching the million-dollar mark last year, organizers set out to repeat the milestone. Thanks to overwhelming community support, Farm Rescue said Giving Hearts Day raised more than $1 million before the event closed.
“Reaching one million dollars last year was a defining moment for Farm Rescue,” Tim Sullivan, Farm Rescue executive director, said in a news release. “To come back this year with the same goal, and achieve it again, speaks volumes about the generosity of this community and the deep connection people feel to farm families. This truly became another Million Dollar Year.”
Momentum throughout Giving Hearts Day was fueled by a group of longtime Farm Rescue supporters who collectively committed $575,000 in matching donations to motivate individuals and businesses to give and maximize their impact. Giving Hearts Day was Thursday, Feb. 12.
By the close of Giving Hearts Day, Farm Rescue had raised a new record of $1,203,599.30. That surpassed its $1 million goal. Donations were received from 723 donors across 39 U.S. states. Funds raised will directly support Farm Rescue’s ability to provide volunteer labor and equipment to farm and ranch families facing major illness, injury, or natural disaster, ensuring critical agricultural work continues during time-sensitive seasons.
Giving Hearts Day is a one-day, online fundraising event. It benefits charities across North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. Since 2008, donors have contributed more than $256 million, with 100% of donations going directly to participating nonprofits. The 2026 fundraiser marks Farm Rescue’s 10th year of participating.
