BOONE, Iowa – Farm Rescue, a nonprofit organization that provides fieldwork and other assistance to farm families who have experienced a major illness, injury or natural disaster, will make its debut at this year’s Farm Progress Show, Tuesday to Thursday, Aug. 27-29.
Thanks to generous support from Farm Progress, the nonprofit Farm Rescue will have its own dedicated exhibit space for the first time at Booth #1310. In addition, it has collaborations scheduled at partner booths.
“Our biggest challenge is awareness. This is a great opportunity for Farm Rescue to share our story and our message of support to the broader farm community,” said Dan Erdmann, Farm Rescue’s marketing program manager. “The generous support of Farm Progress is going to give us visibility at the show like never before, plus we will still be collaborating with our many generous partners during the show.”
At the Farm Rescue Booth
Farm Rescue’s display will include farm equipment from its fleet that readily serves the fieldwork needs of farmers and their families in times of need. Equipment will include planting and harvest implements, as well as a semi-truck and Farm Rescue/Busch Light co-branded pickup truck.
The booth also will showcase a 1957, 450 Farmall tractor, donated by Lincoln Fetcher of Saint Paul, Minnesota. The tractor will be auctioned off by BigIron Auctions on Wednesday, Sept. 4 with all proceeds going to Farm Rescue.
“We are grateful to Lincoln Fetcher who graciously donated this piece of equipment and have no doubt his generosity will help support our efforts to serve farm families in their time of need,” Mr. Erdmann said in a news release.
Mr. Fetcher’s sentimental connection to the machine ultimately inspired his donation, Mr. Erdmann added. “He shared with me that after a quick internet search, he discovered Farm Rescue and felt an immediate connection to our mission. He decided this would be a unique way to support our organization and our assistance operations. We cannot thank him enough for his generosity.”
In addition, other businesses have rallied behind the donation to enhance the equipment prior to the auction. They include: Miles Boatman with BigIron Auctions, donated rims; Titan International, donated tires; and Ames Hydaulics, which repaired a leaking loader cylinder.

Farm Rescue’s presence also will extend beyond its own booth beginning with a Farm Rescue branded semi-truck that will greet visitors at the front gate. The nonprofit, now led by former Executive Director Nate Clark, a former John Deere executive, also will collaborate with other partners including:
- Nutrien Ag Solutions (Booth #906), which will feature a Farm Rescue pickup truck and a Farm Rescue representative to help answer questions and share information.
- Titan International (Booth #24S) will be promoting the tractor auction throughout Farm Progress Show and will also have a Farm Rescue pickup on display.
- Wyffels Hybrids (Booth #833) will sell T-shirts for $15 each at the show with all proceeds benefiting Farm Rescue. In addition, Farm Rescue will be part of Wyffels’ opening ceremonies sponsorship message.
Founded in 2005, Farm Rescue has helped more than 1,100 families since its inception. The organization steps in to help farmers and ranchers who have experienced a major illness, injury, or natural disaster by providing the necessary equipment and volunteer labor to perform time-sensitive services. Applications for assistance are currently being accepted and can be obtained at www.farmrescue.org or by calling (701) 252-2017.
