Family Resources will host its annual gala, Raising Hope, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31, aboard the Celebration Belle, Moline.
As the organization gears up for this year’s event, it is reflecting on how the gala has looked in recent years in the wake of COVID-19. For more than 16 years, the event had been Family Resources’ “single largest source of flexible funding,” according to the event website. It “allowed us to support so many of our programs and services.”
In 2020, however, “we had to reimagine what it meant to gather together.” Now, Family Resources is able to host an in-person gala again “to do what it is we do best when we’re together: To raise a little bit of money and a whole lot of hope for the communities who count on us.”
This year’s gala will feature an evening cruise on the Mississippi River aboard the Celebration Belle, located at 2501 River Drive. Tickets — $75 per person, including a drink ticket; or $600 per table — are available online. Boarding will be at 5:45 p.m. Attire is dressy casual.
