Fair Housing Legislative Breakfast Forum slated for Thursday in Rock Island

A Fair Housing Legislative Breakfast Forum will be held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, Rock Island, from 8:30-10 a.m. on Thursday, April 28. 

It will be hosted by the Quad City Area Realtor Association and the MLK Center, located at 630 Ninth St.

This will be a policy-level discussion with elected officials, and is geared toward city government leaders, housing authorities, non-profits, and other community groups working to remove barriers to safe, affordable housing.

Illinois Rep. Mike Halpin and Rep. Tony McCombie are scheduled to attend. U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos will attend via Zoom. Quad Cities mayors and Illinois Sen. Neil Anderson have been invited.

The 2022 President of Illinois REALTORS Zeke Morris – the first Black man to hold this position – will be the guest speaker.
