Eye Surgeons Associates is celebrating 40 years of providing patients with their “best vision for life” by giving away tickets to local attractions through its What Can You See In the QC anniversary campaign.

Throughout the year, ESA is highlighting monthly attractions, featuring them on posters at the Bettendorf and Rock Island Eye Surgeons clinics, on Facebook and the ESA website. Patients and the public can then guess the attraction and enter to win tickets in person at a clinic or on the website.

“We are so grateful to the patients that trust us with their vision. With a practice that includes services ranging from regular eye exams to complex surgical procedures, we offer patient care for a lifetime,” ESA President Dr. John Frederick said in a news release.

“As a pediatric ophthalmologist in practice since 1998, I have the opportunity to treat patients as kids and see them again as parents caring for their child’s vision. It’s an honor to be trusted to care for patients,” he added.

So far, 25 people have won through July, ESA Marketing Director Julie Berntgen told the QCBJ, with prizes totaling 70 tickets and three annual memberships.

Prizes included tickets to the Quad City Botanical Center in February, a River Bandits game in March, a dinner cruise on the Celebration Belle in April, Sunday Clubhouse Tickets and VIP Parking to the John Deere Classic in May, tickets to Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse in June and family memberships to the Figge Art Museum in July.

The “response has been very positive,” Ms. Berntgen said, adding that the “odds for winning (are) a lot better than the lottery.”

ESA, a professional corporation owned by physicians, was founded in 1983 by Drs. Amir and Lisa Arbisser on the campus of Mercy Hospital in Davenport, a predecessor to the Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park campus.

For 40 years, ESA has provided people in the Quad Cities and surrounding areas with a comprehensive range of eye care, treating cornea and external eye disease, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, pediatric eye disorders and much more. Surgical services include cataract and refractive, featuring LASIK and lens exchange.

ESA currently employs about 175 people — including 11 ophthalmologists and six optometrists — operating three locations in Bettendorf, Geneseo and Rock Island, with a satellite location in Muscatine.

“We know the important role vision plays in enjoying a happy and active lifestyle. Clear vision helps you see details and distance; as we age, color clarity can be affected by cataracts that cloud vision,” said Dr. Frederick, in the release.

“We want everybody to see their best, experience the world-class attractions we have in the Quad Cities and have the opportunity to win tickets to these attractions. We think it’s a great way to thank the community and celebrate our 40th year.” For more information or to enter, visit ESA’s Facebook page or website.
