East Moline to host Fourth of July events

East Moline is getting ready to celebrate.

The city will host many Independence Day events on Wednesday and Thursday, July 3 and 4.

Those events will include: 

  • Wednesday, July 3: Fireworks will be held at River Bend Park, 900 Bend Blvd., with a Presentation of Colors by the Rock Island Arsenal Army Sustainment Command Soldiers at 6:45 p.m. The Kids’ Zone with games, face painting, a balloon artist, and bubble fun will kick off at 6 p.m. The band  “For Those About to Yacht” will begin playing at 7 p.m. Food and drink vendors will be available and the fireworks show begins at dusk.
  • Thursday, July 4: The 44th annual Genesis Firecracker Run will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Runners Park, 742 15th Ave. Also, the East Moline Fire Department Pancake Breakfast will be 6:30-11 a.m. at the American Legion Hall, 829 16th Ave. The 66th Annual Fourth of July parade will step off at 1 p.m. The route begins at 3rd Street and 15th Avenue, ending on 13th Street.
