East Moline event to discuss Bend Boulevard ideas Nov. 7

The City of East Moline will host the final open house in its revitalization planning process from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7.

The topic will be the proposed extension of the Bend Boulevard to connect and encourage redevelopment at The Bend. The public is invited to the open house at the Rust Belt Common Area, 533 12th Ave., East Moline.

A proposal calls for extending Bend Boulevard from 7th Street to Mississippi Parkway along with additional streetscaping improvements. The open house also will include a review of environmental studies, construction staging and the project schedule and next steps.

The proposed improvements are part of a revitalization project that will improve connectivity and enhance East Moline’s downtown with The Bend riverfront developments. The city received more than a $24 million grant for the project from the Rebuilding America’s Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) program.
