The East Moline Community Fund Committee on Friday, Oct. 6, announced that it is providing $22,500 in grants for 17 area nonprofit organizations.
A grants awards ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the East Moline Public Library.
Those groups selected to receive grant money include:
- Aldridge Early Learning Center for classroom technology: $1,000.
- Alternatives for Older Adults for emergency funding for East Moline and Silvis residents: $1,000.
- Ballet Quad Cities for literacy, music and programs in East Moline schools: $1,000.
- Children’s Therapy Center of Quad Cities for therapy services: $2,000.
- Christ United Methodist Church of the Quad Cities for East Moline and Silvis food pantries: $1,750.
- Dress for Success Quad Cities for Road Forward Program: $1,000.
- EveryChild for child protection program: $1,000.
- Humility Homes & Services for essential needs for emergency shelters: $1,250.
- Illowa Council Boy Scouts of America for ScoutReach Program: $1,000.
- Junior Achievement of the Heartland for core mission programs: $500.
- Special Olympics for The Unified Generation program: $1,000.
- Spring Forward for expanding programs: $2,000.
- STEAM on Wheels for after-school programs: $1,100.
- Two Rivers YMCA for summer enrichment programs: $1,000.
- WQPT for the First Book Club: $1,000.
- Youth Service Bureau of Rock Island County for counseling at-risk young people: $2,500.
- YouthHope for outreach program: $2,400.
The East Moline Community Fund receives and administers gifts and works with citizens to achieve their dreams and improve the community, according to the organization.
