DuTrac Community Credit Union’s new Moline branch building at 3153 Avenue of the Cities was the center of attention on Wednesday, July 10, during a welcome-to-the-community celebration.

A Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony, tours, gift giveaways, food and welcoming speeches were held for the new multi-million dollar branch, which has been open since the end of May. More than 75 people from the business community attended Wednesday’s events. “We built this for growth. We have a lot of room for growth,” said Kim Adams, vice president of Operations and Facilities for DuTrac, at Wednesday's events. She added that since its opening, DuTrac customers have had many positive comments about the new facility. That new building’s features include:

• Two drive-through lanes with a canopy.
• A separate drive-up ATM lane that takes deposits.
• Safe deposit boxes.
• A bright interior tailored for member's efficient use. The interior also features a large photo of the new Interstate 74 bridge, and bunches of blue and silver balloons were on display for the celebration. “This building is efficient. The neighbors love it,” said Ms. Adams.
• Six employees work in the new branch.
• The building has 3,226 square feet of space. 
• The building project had 20 subcontractors, ranging from sitework, electrical vendors to commercial window blinds. The architect for the project was Streamline Architects  and Townsend Engineering.

“DuTrac is grateful to the membership for their patience while we replaced our Moline branch. We are proud to serve our Moline and the greater Quad Cities members in this new branch and invite members to fully utilize the facility,” said Andy Hawkinson, president and CEO of DuTrac Community Credit Union, in a news release before Wednesday’s events. “The new building reinforces DuTrac's nearly 80-year commitment to supporting financial growth in the local communities we serve.” During Wednesday’s ceremony, Moline Mayor Sangeetha Rayapati called the new branch another vital part of Moline’s continued growth and thanked DuTrac for investing in the community. The construction of the building started last year. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Nov. 1 after the old DuTrac branch building, along with two other nearby buildings, were torn down to make room for the new, bigger building. (DuTrac’s old branch building at that location closed on Sept. 22.) However, DuTrac was still doing business at 3153 Avenue of the Cities in an on-site trailer for nine months. Several DuTrac officials on Wednesday said they were happy the new building is open for business. “We were ready to have that gone. It did its purpose, but it had its issues,” said Ms. Adams. DuTrac is headquartered in Dubuque, Iowa. The credit union’s charter area includes 21 counties in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. It has more than 140 employees and 14 branches in the tri-state region. DuTrac Community Credit Union’s other area branch locations include:

• 2330 East 53rd Street and 3100 W. Kimberly Road (two locations), Davenport.
• 2770 Middle Road, Bettendorf.
• 200 North Fourth Avenue, Eldridge.
• 18072 Highway 64, Maquoketa, Iowa.
