CLINTON, Iowa – Raymond Fink had a few financial matters to take care of on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at DuTrac Community Credit Union in this community.
The problem is, he almost got lost. He went to DuTrac’s original home on the south side of Clinton to find the credit union had just moved to a new 4,000-square-foot building about a mile down the road.
“I’m glad I found the place. I first went to their old location. … They have a nice, new place here,” said the Clinton man.
About 40 members of the Clinton business community helped welcome that new DuTrac location – at 2445 Valley West Court – during a Grow Clinton ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday.
“Our customers just love the open concept and layout of this new place,” said Amanda Smith, branch manager of the new DuTrac site.
The new building has many advantages over the original site. Some of those include more space, a lot more parking space for customers and two drive-through lanes, added Ms. Smith.
The credit union’s original home in Clinton at 2900 S. 25th St., Suite A, was a storefront in a retail strip mall building.
Also, the new building, which was first open to customers on Monday, Nov. 25, with about five employees, is in a busy part of Clinton, not too far from the Walmart Supercenter. DuTrac officials hope that location will add to its visibility and attract more customers.
During Tuesday’s ceremony, the new credit union building was decked out for the holidays with two Christmas trees in the front lobby area. There were also several signs with messages of encouragement in the lobby. One of those signs read: “Big dreams start today.”
DuTrac officials on Tuesday did not disclose the cost to construct the new credit union building.
Officials, though, did thank DuTrac employees and the community for helping make the dream of a new credit union building a reality.
“We needed to make a permanent footprint in Clinton. We want to make sure Clinton knows we are here to stay,” said Andrew Hawkinson, DuTrac’s president and CEO, during Tuesday’s ceremony.
The new Clinton DuTrac building is just the latest project for the business. In July, DuTrac celebrated the opening of its new branch building at 3153 Avenue of the Cities, Moline.
The construction of that new 3,226-square-foot building started last year. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Nov. 1, 2023, after the old DuTrac branch building, along with two other nearby buildings, were torn down to make room for the new, bigger Moline building.
The new Dutrac in Clinton is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Thursday; and 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The drive-through portion of the credit union is also open 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
DuTrac is headquartered in Dubuque, Iowa. The credit union’s charter area includes 21 counties in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. It has more than 140 employees and 14 branches in the tri-state region.
DuTrac Community Credit Union’s other area branch locations include:
- 2330 East 53rd Street and 3100 W. Kimberly Road (two locations), Davenport.
- 2770 Middle Road, Bettendorf.
- 200 North Fourth Avenue, Eldridge.
- 18072 Highway 64, Maquoketa, Iowa.
- 3153 Avenue of the Cities, Moline.
