Delta Dental event explores caregiving, workforce impact

Nearly one in five workers also provide care to an ill, aging or special-needs adult, according to a Delta Dental Iowa news release citing AARP statistics.

Learn more about how this caregiving is impacting today’s workforce and how employers can better support their employees during Delta Dental’s upcoming Green Room on “Caregiving: It’s more than a full-time job for your employees.” The virtual event will be at noon Tuesday, April 25.

The free event will feature a panel conversation moderated by Jeff Russell, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Iowa, along with Marsha Aldridge of IMT Insurance, Tiffany O’Donnell of Women Lead Change (WLC), and Candice Smith of Caregiven.

The panelists will discuss caregiving from personal and human resources perspectives as well as data from WLC on how caregiving specifically affects women.

“Caregiving stress affects the mental, physical and financial health of employees, but many employees remain silent about their situation for fear of losing their job or missing out on a promotion,” Mr. Russell said in the release.

“As employers, we have an opportunity to support our employees through their caregiving experience,” he added.

This event is part of Green Room, a conversation series hosted by Delta Dental of Iowa designed to help business leaders gain insights for managing, motivating and achieving continued success for their businesses and employees. Delta Dental of Iowa is a not-for-profit organization that provides dental and vision benefits to more than 1.6 million Iowans.
