Deere & Co. reported better-than-expected third quarter earnings of $1.289 billion, or $4.75 per share, but still well below $1.73 billion the Moline-based global equipment-maker reported the previous year. In the earnings report, released Thursday, Aug. 14, the company cited tariff costs as a major reason for the decline.
