Davenport’s DREAM revitalizing neighborhoods a block at a time

Davenport election primary

The City of Davenport has opened the fourth round of funding for its popular DREAM Project, which is helping residents rebuild their neighborhoods.

Applications now are being accepted from new and existing homeowners residing in the targeted DREAM Project Area. A total of $900,000 in funding is available for homeowners who would like to revitalize their properties.

Since the program’s inception more than three years, the DREAM Project has awarded nearly $2.7 million to revitalize 138 properties.

“The DREAM Project has been a greatly appreciated gift,” said Nadia, a previous DREAM recipient. “Everyone has been so excited for me, even strangers have stopped in their cars to compliment my house. It has also gotten the neighbors excited about repairing their homes. I am very grateful and  thankful for this program and hope for its continued success.”

Applications for the latest round of the funding are being accepted through Friday, June 3. Applicants are eligible for a grant up to $20,000 to make exterior improvements to their property.

DREAM Project funding is available to residents in designated neighborhoods, and participants who receive funding must reside in the property where they are making improvements.

Current homeowners within the DREAM Plus area are not eligible to apply.
