Davenport schools tabs Clark as Truman Elementary principal

The Davenport Community School District announced Monday, June 23, the selection of Alec Clark as the new principal for Truman Elementary School for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year, pending board approval.

The Davenport Community School District announced Monday, June 23, the selection of Alec Clark as the new principal for Truman Elementary School for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year, pending board approval.

Superintendent TJ Schneckloth said in a news release “We are extremely proud to welcome Alec to the leadership team at Davenport Community School District. He has a proven track record of growing excellence in previous roles, and we are excited to see the impact he will make for DCSD students in his new role.”

Mr. Clark most recently served as the principal of Edward Stone Middle School in Burlington, Iowa.

His experience also includes various administrative roles within the Burlington Community School District, such as principal of North Hill Elementary School. Earlier in his career, he worked as a teacher and instructional coach in the Bettendorf Community School District.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Northern Iowa, a master’s degree in athletic administration from Upper Iowa University, and an advanced studies certificate in principalship from the University of Northern Iowa.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to join the Truman Elementary School community and the Davenport Community School District,” Mr. Clark said in the release. “I look forward to working with our students, staff, and families this fall.”
