Davenport Schools announces new administrators for 2025-26

The Davenport Community School District has announced the selection of three new administrators for the 2025-2026 school year, pending board approval.

The new promotions are: 

Ellen Weishaar
  • Ellen Weishaar will become the principal of Williams Middle School, succeeding Eric Johnson, who was recently named Davenport North High School principal. Ms. Weishaar has been the assistant principal at Williams since 2021 and previously served as a teacher and coach in the district. She holds degrees from the University of Northern Iowa and Walden University.
Dr. Tia Hicks
  • Dr. Tia Stevens-Hicks has been named the principal of Harrison Elementary School, replacing Tom Green, who is retiring. Ms. Stevens-Hicks is currently the dean of students for the nearby Pleasant Valley Community School District. Her prior experience includes roles as a teacher and administrator in Texas. She earned degrees from Chaminade University of Honolulu, the American College of Education, and Abilene Christian University.
Mike Vukovich
  • Michael Vukovich has been selected as the director of Secondary Learning and Results. He currently serves as the district’s CTE curriculum specialist and has more than 20 years of education experience in Georgia and Iowa. He previously was the director of high schools in Des Moines Public Schools. Mr. Vukovich holds degrees from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and Iowa State University.

Davenport Superintendent TJ Schneckloth praised the new administrators, stating they have “a proven track record of growing excellence” and expressed excitement about their future impact on students.
