IowaWORKS is hosting eight hiring events in Davenport this month for jobs as assemblers at Whirlpool Corp. and for multiple skilled and unskilled positions at Hon Industries in Muscatine.
The Whirlpool jobs will pay $18 an hour, according to the state agency. Hon’s manufacturing and distribution jobs range from $14.50 an hour to $18.50 an hour. Hon also is offering a $2,000 sign-on bonus for first shift, $3,000 sign-on bonus for second shift, and hourly off-shift premiums of $1-$2 an hour.
Details of the job fairs, which will be at IowaWORKS facility at 1801 E. Kimberly Road, are:
- Whirlpool Corp.: Jan. 7, 14, 21, and 28; 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. A free shuttle is available from the Quad Cities to the Muscatine facility.
- Hon Industries: Jan. 5, 12, 19 and 26, 9 a.m.-noon. Multiple positions are available.
