Jim Houghton, a partner in Davenport’s Five Cities Financial, an office of Northwestern Mutual, was selected for Forbes Best-In-State Top Financial Security Professionals.
The prestigious award recognizes distinguished financial security professionals who work hard to keep their clients calm and more importantly preserve their wealth.
Mr. Houghton and Eastern Iowa’s Mitch Peyton were among eight Iowa advisors to earn top Forbes honors. Mr. Peyton, wealth manager advisor, and his team work out of the Manchester, Iowa, district office of Northwestern Mutual.

Each advisor — selected by SHOOK Research — is chosen based on an algorithm of qualitative and quantitative criteria, including in-person interviews; industry experience; compliance records; revenue produced; and assets under management.
Mr. Houghton began his career at Northwestern Mutual in 1993. In 2018, he co-founded Five Cities Financial with partner and friend David Kreiter, another wealth management advisor with Northwestern Mutual.
