A Scott County project is among 36 U.S. Small Business Administration-backed loans totaling $7.9 million that were provided to Iowa businesses from participating lenders last month using the SBA’s two largest lending programs.
The recently released February 2024 totals included a loan of $131,000 to Messenger Motorworks of Davenport, an existing business that will create one job and retain five others, according to the listing.
The SBA’s 7(a) and 504 programs capitalized 15 new and 21 existing Iowa businesses that report creating 148 new jobs and retaining 140 jobs as a result.Â
