CVS Pharmacy will close two of its Quad Cities locations, including one store in Moline and one in Davenport, according to a company spokesman.

CVS will close its store at 2250 41st St., Moline, on Wednesday, Nov. 29, and its store at Davenport’s Five Points (1777 Division St.) on Thursday, Dec. 7, the spokesman told the QCBJ in an email.

In the email, CVS cited a variety of reasons behind the “difficult decision,” including local market dynamics, population shifts and a community’s store density.

“Maintaining access to pharmacy services in the communities we serve is an important factor we consider when making store closure decisions,” the email states.

According to CVS, all employees impacted by the closures are being offered comparable roles within the company.

CVS will continue to have six CVS Pharmacy locations in the Quad Cities. The pharmacy also offers prescription home delivery service to eligible patients through CVS.com and the CVS Pharmacy app.

But according to the email, CVS will transfer all the Moline store’s prescriptions to the Rock Island CVS, at 2617 18th Ave. The Davenport prescriptions will be transferred to the nearby CVS Pharmacy at 1655 W. Kimberly Road.

According to CVS, patients can always choose to fill their prescriptions at any CVS Pharmacy, or the pharmacy of their choice, if another is more convenient.

Aetna Better Health of Illinois Medicaid members can choose to fill their prescriptions at any nearby in-network pharmacy location convenient for them. Prescriptions will be transferred to the CVS Pharmacy at 2617 18th Ave in Rock Island until a selection is made.
