Crossroads hosts Secure Shred Day in Muscatine

MUSCATINE, Iowa — Crossroads will host its fourth annual Residential Secure Shred Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 21. The drive-through event at 1424 Houser St. will allow residents to securely dispose of up to 50 pounds of personal documents without exiting their vehicles.

Crossroads, a local nonprofit and AAA NAID-certified shredding provider, offers year-round secure document destruction. Residential shredding is available for a suggested donation of 50 cents per pound, with proceeds benefiting services for seniors and people with disabilities.

Donations to Crossroads help supplement Medicaid funding, enabling community members to access desired care and support. Crossroads prioritizes staff training, community engagement, and affordable services, including sliding scale fees for senior programs.

To participate in the shred day, residents should remove documents from binders before drop-off. Magazines, newspapers, and glossy paper will not be accepted.

Businesses and organizations seeking secure shredding services can contact Kraig Reed at [email protected] for information about year-round commercial options.
