Adam Isaacson recently took a look at the menu for Crawford Brew Works’ new kitchen.

His eyes immediately went to the kitchen’s version of Buffalo wings – the CBW Wings with mango jalapeno. That’s his favorite food on the menu.

“We have the best wings in town. … We’re glad this kitchen finally happened,” said Mr.  Isaacson, one of the owners of the Crawford Brew Works at 2659 Devils Glen, Bettendorf.

The area businessman was one of about 50 people who gathered Friday, July 12, to welcome the new Kitchen at the Brew Works. The grand opening event included a Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony; lots of snacks from the kitchen; drinks, including the release of CBW’s new beer, the One-Armed Ginger Red Ale; and words of praise from business and community leaders.

“You’ve done some great things for our community. … This (kitchen) will be a great addition to Crawford,” said Bettendorf Mayor Bob Gallagher during Friday’s welcoming ceremony.

The kitchen started serving food in June. In that short time, it has foodie fans who love its menu.

“The response has been favorable. … It really does have something for everybody,” said Ian Frink, one of the owners of the Crawford Brew Works.

Mr. Frink and other Crawford officials said during the grand opening that it has been a long, tough journey to turn the dream of a kitchen at Crawford into a reality. Mr. Frink added that construction work on the kitchen started in March, but discussions and planning of the kitchen go back years – even to when the brew works opened, just over six years ago.

One of the owners called the kitchen’s menu and concept an “indoor food truck.”

Even though the Crawford Kitchen menu has been winning a lot of fans in the past few weeks, that menu will likely change in the future.

“It’s going to expand over time, maybe with the seasons,” said Mr. Isaacson. “We’re going to listen to the customers and see what’s selling and what isn’t.”

With the opening of the new kitchen, CBW now has about 15 employees, according to Mr. Frink.
